Serving Art Educators
and Students Since 1994
Welcome to Bunki Kramer's student art gallery. Bunki Kramer was a major contributer to the Incredible Art Department and before she died, she donated her website to IAD so it can live on and continue to be enjoyed by art teachers and students around the world.
Retired teacher and artist Bunki Kramer passed away at home Thursday night, May 1, 2014 surrounded by her family after a brief battle with late-stage breast cancer. She was 69. Born in Evanston, Illinois, Bunki grew up in Maine and North Carolina and graduated from Garner High School in 1963. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, and taught high school art before marrying Thomas Morris Kramer, with whom she moved to California in 1980 and raised three children.
Bunki's creativity fueled her boutique business, Bunkiwho, in which she sewed and sold appliquéd sweatshirts to McCullough's in the 1980's. She went on to lead the art program at Los Cerros Intermediate School for almost 25 years before retiring in 2013. Bunki also taught adult students and fellow teachers, and she co-produced "Oodles of Ideas," a DVD for art teachers through National Art Education Association. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, antiquing, decorating, crafting, and cradling each of her newborn grand-babies.
Bunki is survived by her three children, Angela Fox and husband Rob, Whitney Barazoto and husband Dan, and Beau Kramer and wife Melissa, and seven grandchildren: J.T., Ashley, Cameron, Lucas, Elizabeth, Nicole, and newborn baby Thomas. She was the daughter of Louise White Dolan, also a resident of Rossmoor, who passed away in 2012. Bunki's funeral was on Friday, May 9, 2014, from 4-7pm in the Fairway room at Creekside Clubhouse in Rossmoor, Walnut Creek, California.
